چکیده
Abstract This essay explores various interconnecting and cross-cutting threads that run through this volume. Alighting on ‘conspiration’ other common themes dominate the book, afterword considers contribution of essays in their vast historical, cultural, thematic milieux, sees them as potential building blocks for a ‘breath studies’. And yet, by placing book within context COVID-19 pandemic, we might worry whether conspiration may be at threat. It strict government regulations which have sought to constrain spread disease suppressing social interactions togetherness eroding our political ethical capacities share air.

Breath Alcohol Concentration and Breath Temperature
Breath alcohol concentration, breath temperature, and body temperature are used to extrapolate the breath alcohol concentration to the concentration of alcohol in the deep lung air, which is in equilibrium with the pulmonary blood. Introduction The variability that is seen in the breath alcohol test (note: “alcohol” means ethyl alcohol) has always been more or less ignored as inevitable “biolog...

Background: Pathogenic yersiniae (Y. pestis, Y. pseudotuberculosis, Y. enterocolitica) share a virulence plasmid encoding a type three secretion system (T3SS). This T3SS comprises more than 40 constituents. Among these are the transport substrates called Yops (Yersinia outer proteins), the specific Yop chaperones (Sycs), and the Ysc (Yop secretion) proteins which form the transport machinery. T...
متن کاملVisualising Breath
The visualising of breath using digital in-line holography is challenging due to the issues of the relative scale of the human breath in relation to the recording area of the hologram. In this collaborative project between artist Jayne Wilton and physicists Professor Peter Hobson and Dr Ivan Reid a number of approaches, including the use of spatial filtering (Hobson and Hong 1988), are being us...
متن کاملBreath Testing for Lactose Intolerance
Food intolerance can cause a range of gut and systemic symptoms [1]. The possibility that these conditions might be caused by intolerance to lactose has often been missed because it is not generally appreciated how widely lactose is used as a food additive: the addition of lactose to manufactured foods and drinks is not necessarily mentioned on the package label. Lactose has about one sixth of ...
متن کاملBreath-by-breath assessment of alveolar gas stores and exchange.
The volume of O(2) exchanged at the mouth during a breath (Vo(2,m)) is equal to that taken up by pulmonary capillaries (Vo(2,A)) only if lung O(2) stores are constant. The latter change if either end-expiratory lung volume (EELV), or alveolar O(2) fraction (Fa(O(2))) change. Measuring this requires breath-by-breath (BbB) measurement of absolute EELV, for which we used optoelectronic plethysmogr...
